Project Overview

For The Fallen is a memorial park in Teluk Intan dedicated to the lives lost during the Battle of Kampar in World War II. Inspired by the poem inscribed on the historic local Batu Tenggek memorial, the project transforms remembrance into a spatial journey through landscape, architecture, light, and water. At its center stands a perforated memorial wall containing approximately 1,600 openings, commemorating the British Indian brigades who formed the defending force during the battle against the Japanese. Through moments of reflection, education, and community engagement, the proposal seeks to preserve the memory of the past while creating meaningful spaces for contemporary public life.

Masterplan Perspective

Description

The masterplan perspective illustrates the overall composition of the memorial park and the relationship between its key spaces. A sequence of pathways, reflective water elements, galleries, and gathering spaces guide visitors through the site, creating a gradual transition between remembrance and everyday public life. The memorial wall acts as the focal point of the development, while the surrounding landscape provides opportunities for reflection, education, and community engagement.
